JOIN THE FUN...Become a volunteer! We need you!!

The City Christian staff would like to give our volunteers a huge THANK YOU!

Last year our school was bountifully blessed to have many volunteers who served faithfully at a myriad of functions. Everything from field trips, to room moms, to van drivers for sports events, to office help, to special events like Open House or a variety of academic competitions… and the list could go on and on.

Mr. Mason was very pleased to see excited volunteers on work days when painting, cleaning, etc. took place to repair and beautify our facilities.  Whatever you did to help us last school year, we hope you enjoyed serving with us and we want to express to you again how grateful we continue to be for your help.

Now we have begun the 2006-2007 school year, and lots of exciting activities await us.  As you have guessed by now, we will need lots of enthusiastic volunteers to make these events successful and rewarding for all of our students, their parents, and our own CCS staff.

We would like to thank you ahead of time for your enthusiastic willingness to lend a helping hand when the help is needed.  We are a team!  Let’s make this year the best ever as we combine our strength to create happy school memories for our kids.

Infodirect - available for families

InfoDirect™ is a feature designed to help connect the school to your home by means of a secure Internet connection. With a user ID and password, parents can check upcoming events, get directions to a sporting event, download homework assignments, and check their student’s grades. All of this can be done from your home computer.

Parents and students who have used InfoDirect™  in the past know what a useful tool it is. This year passwords and user ID’s have remained the same as last year. Families new to CCS/CCHS can call the school office for their passwords. Please call the school if you have any trouble logging in or with the program.

Office aides work alongside staff

When students have a free period in their schedules, they are given the opportunity to become student aides. They receive credit for helping teachers and staff with whatever needs to be done. This year the office has b een blessed with a number of competent office aides.

Office Manager Mrs. Callahan says that these students are a “blessing in our office. They help to make the office run smoothly.”

Mrs. Bushard,  secretary and School Dynamics expert praised the aides, “It is wonderful to have responsible aides. They do a great job and are an asset to the sc hool.”

Paula really enjoys working with Mrs. Bushard and Mrs. Callahan. She also enjoys the cookies Mrs. Callahan brings.

Ben does the mail and all the “really odd jobs”. He enjoys the perks, but that’s a secret. Jacqwese is that pleasant voice that is sometimes on the other end of the phone when you call the school. “I love working with Mrs. Bushard and Mrs. Callahan. Also I enjoy helping the kids and answering the phones.”

David thinks that being an office aide is “pretty sweet”. He has learned to make copies at super speed and can quote you the grade rosters  K-6th from memory.
