City Christian Schools (CCS) were established in 1974 as Bible Temple Christian School with an enrollment of 105 students, grades 1-9. Accelerated Christian Education was the academic program selected and continued to be the core of the curriculum until 1985. The school then changed to the traditional method of classroom instruction. Supervisory and teaching personnel were selected from within the City Bible Church family. This continues to be the only source of staff personnel. The present enrollment at CCS is approximately 300 students, grades K-12. The student body is located on Rocky Butte, a beautiful thirty-three acre campus that also includes City Bible Church and Portland Bible College. At the outset, City Bible Church accepted the commitment to the scriptural mandate that our children were to be "trained daily in the temple"-Acts 5:42. CCS is a ministry of City Bible Church, located at 9200 N.E. Fremont Street. It is subject to the pastorate and eldership of City Bible Church and is in harmony with the spirit and work of the church. |
